In the late 1990’s I started getting together with a few like minded artists to share our colored pencil artwork and techniques. I became fond of colored pencils years ago. Air Force Illustrator, Community College Art Instructor, Advertising Agency Art Director, and 24 years as an Illustrator/Graphic Designer with CP&L/Progress Energy. In my senior year in Wallace-Rose Hill High School, I produced a charcoal portrait of our Principal, Mr. ![]() When I was growing up the local school curriculum did not include art instruction, so I took one night a week art classes during my seventh-grade year. My fifth-grade teacher urged me to enter an art competition sponsored by Woodmen of the World and I won first place. He is a Duplin County native and son to the late Shephard and Katherine Sanders. Sanders, 81, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2022. Burial will follow the service at Devotional Gardens, Warsaw, NC. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, Monday, Jat Johnson Baptist Church and a funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at Johnson Baptist Church. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Genette Tate and Marie Quinn. Howard and husband, Jonathan eleven great grandchildren, Ethan Boone, Maggie Boone, Lily Boone, Ayden Boone, Sadie Casteen Stokes Casteen, Carmen Mahoney Katie Mahoney, Drew Howard, Olivia Howard, Emmett Howard. Casteen and husband, Brian and Hillary D. Drew and husband Cris of Magnolia three granddaughters, Heather D. She is survived by two children, Douglas Quinn of Warsaw and Deborah Q. She took delight in sitting and playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. ![]() She would make sure everyone was fed including the farm workers. You could always find her in the kitchen whipping up something delicious. She enjoyed having a garden every year and canning or freezing all its bounty. She was a hard worker not only as a homemaker but also helping on the farm. ![]() She was a member of Johnson Baptist Church and truly had a servants heart with a willingness to help everyone. Mildred was preceded in death by husband, Robert Clifton Quinn brother, Glenn Kornegay and wife, Virginia, Lynwood “Lyn Tom” Kornegay, and Andrew Kornegay brother-in-law, Jessie Quinn and sisters-in-law, Ruth Outlaw and Martha Chappell. Mildred was born Januin Duplin County, NC to the late Manly Kornegay and Maggie Westbrook Kornegay. Warsaw - Mildred Beatrice Kornegay Quinn, 88, passed away Thursday, Jat her home. Jenell was a long time member of Warsaw Baptist Church and in honor of her love and joy of being surrounded by beautiful flowers, floral arrangements are certainly welcome, or monetary donations may be made to: Warsaw Baptist Church, 209 E. A private interment service will be held at a later date. Jenell is survived by three sons, Darron Ezzell and wife, Bridget of Elizabethtown, NC, Darret Ezzell and wife, Michelle of Wallace, NC, Kent Ezzell of Atlantic Beach, FL one sister, Doris Brock of Rose Hill, NC four grandchildren, Blake Ezzell and wife, Berta, Haley Lanier and husband, Jerry, Zachary Ezzell, and Leyton Ezzell one great grandson, Thomas Lanier and special friend, Jimmie English and brother-in-law, Johnnie Powell.Ī visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 10, 2022, at Warsaw Baptist Church in Powell Hall with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Linwood Ezzell. Jenell was born January 27, 1939, in Duplin County, NC to the late John Carl Bishop and Berta Register Bishop. ![]() Warsaw - Jenell Bishop Ezzell, 83, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Duke University Hospital in Durham.
